Some of our friend's wines, the Lavaut family ... Ladoix and Aloxe-Corton. If you stick with anything named Corton, you won't go far wrong (except that you'll make enemies with your wallet :-)
An example of our tasting notes --- you see we were actually working !!! As you see, or may not see, the notes are ones that Nikki took, and she developed a tasting system so that we could measure which of the 100 or so wines a day ranked at the top, the middle or the bottom.
This stuff was seriously good. We tried to give a shout-out to female vintners, and try their product where possible. And we were well rewarded !!
The Remoriquet family had some remarkable wines, and were a wonderful couple. Really nice people making seriously fine wine.
This was an example of the halls that we visited.
Something to keep our palates happy ..... some nice pate brisees
This was in an old church or town hall .... packed to the gills it was ...
What all the fuss was about .... they cut these down to about 2 feet, and then let them grow each season ...
Olivier Guyot wines ... blurry pic .... clearly good wines ...
Fellow combatant's .... :-)
