McClaren GT

whar a beautiful car. this was a peer of the Porshe 917's and Ferrari 512's of the early 70's.
Bruce McClaren want to homologate this, but he needed 26 to satisfy FIA (racing authority). He only made 3 or so. But he told them that he had the 26 and that there were witnesses. Well FIA called up witnesses and some of them got back to Bruce, so Bruce then called FIA and told them that he did not have 26. The game was up. There would be no M6-GT for Bruce that would race against the 917's. But what a pity for such a pretty car, with great lines. It did have problems with the aerodynamics and when David Prophet raced it, he found that changes needed to be made to the front, to add some fins in order to keep it stable.
